We’re actively seeking a talented AVP Capital Reinsurance to join our Enterprise Reinsurance Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or 100% remote.

As an AVP Capital Reinsurance, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by managing the changing capital management and reinsurance landscape. The position is responsible for the origination and oversight of PL’s Enterprise Capital Reinsurance program, and evaluation and execution of solutions that focus on meeting the strategic capital management goals of Pacific Life.

How you will make an impact:

  • Drive customized end-to-end transactions that meet Pacific Life’s capital, strategy, and liquidity needs targeted to enhance product profitability, optimize our balance sheet, unlock capital for organic growth and/or M&A while enhancing our diversification.
  • Serve as the lead deal structurer and negotiator with reinsurance/financial partners on complex transactions for capital management and insurance reserve relief.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the business needs and partner together to provide solutions internal stakeholders (such as Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Treasury, and Product Development) on the strategic use of capital management and/or financial reinsurance.

The experience you will bring:

  • 15-20+ years of experience; Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills and ability to work successfully with many different stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written) with ability to tailor approach to the audience.
  • Track record of effectively influencing and working through others.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Ability to research and recommend business solutions for new challenges/opportunities.
  • Ability to leverage strong technical skills to develop and execute creative solutions.
  • Deep understanding of various US and Bermuda actuarial valuation regulations and requirements.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$185,600.00 - $232,000.00 - $324,800.00
