The ADP Program Overview
The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program that demonstrates Lincoln Financial' s commitment to creating highly qualified business leaders. As an ADP participant, you'll be able to explore your unique interests while developing the essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills you need to succeed. The Actuarial Development Program includes a series of rotations, typically every 18-24 months. For each rotation, roles are available in different business areas including Life and Annuities, Retirement and Group Protection. Experience gained will enable participants to become well-rounded actuaries with knowledge that may include Product Development, Pricing, Valuation, Modeling, Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Investments, Data Analytics, and Internal Audit.
ADP participants are expected to pass the Society of Actuaries' exams at a prescribed pace. The program is designed to support you as you work towards your FSA and provide the training and resources necessary to become a well-rounded actuarial leader.

The Role at a Glance:
We're excited to bring on a Consultant, Actuarial, to work with all areas of risk and all lines of businesses to support the continued development and implementation of Lincoln Financial Group's MRG program. The MRG team reports to the Chief Risk Officer within the Investment, Risk, and Sustainability Department.
The focus of this group is to deliver insightful, value-adding, actionable risk analytics and governance to drive business results. The Consultant, Actuarial will assist in performing critical second-line reviews of various models across the organization. You will contribute to the establishment of model risk methodologies for Lincoln Financial with an emphasis on executing model testing and maintaining the Model Inventory for senior audiences to understand LFG's model risk profile and any mitigation actions. You will also support ad hoc projects in pursuit of MRG's and LFG's strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing

  • Build trusted partnerships between MRG and first-line model owners/operators,
  • Develop clear, representative test plans for model reviews,
  • Analyze models relative to stated objectives for reliability, accuracy, transparency, and efficiency,
  • Partner with Business Units across LFG to support R&D projects,
  • Prioritize and communicate questions openly, and
  • Summarize findings to management coherently with emphasis on balancing feasible deadlines and incremental progress.


What we're looking for

Must-haves:
  • 3+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in model analysis or related roles
  • General insurance business knowledge
  • ASA (will consider advanced pre-ASA)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with data visualization experience a plus
  • Independent, motivated, and collaborative
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and curiosity and capability to quickly learn new concepts


Nice-to-haves:
  • Prior experience with actuarial modeling software
  • Group insurance or retirement plan product knowledge
  • Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)

The pay range for this position is $77,101 - $143,500 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
