This role will be a member of the capital management team, which serves the company by reporting and monitoring capital in alignment of regulatory reporting, strategic planning, and market expansion needs of Fortitude Re. The incumbent will serve as the in-house Variable Annuity (VA) projection expert as related to a variety of projects, such as Economic Balance Sheet (EBS), Embedded Value (EV) analysis, Modeling Methodology and Assumption Setting, etc., for the FLIAC entity. The role will be required to work closely with departments across the organization including actuarial, finance, investments and pricing teams. This role can be based in our Nashville, TN or Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid schedule.

What You Will Do:
- Serve as the in-house expert within capital management team of the FLIAC VA projection model, focusing on financial projection and Source of Earnings (SOE) analysis.
- Working with VA modeling team on implementing changes required for Capital Management purposes.
- Produce the quarterly preparation and movement analysis of Embedded Value (EV) including sensitivities for the US based business.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) production process for the US VA business for purpose of Bermuda Group Supervision.
- Critically review corporate level-investment and capital assumptions for consistency across reporting regimes (US GAAP, US Statutory) as well as key inputs into the process produced by other departments.
- Implement and execute controls as necessary to ensure accurate financial statement projections. Document model specification and review procedure. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including ERM and Internal Auditors.
- Assist and review key assumptions and inputs for financial projection purpose. Serve as the key liaison with actuarial modeling team and provide assumption updates and methodology changes as required.
- Assess and develop metrics to analyze projected income, reserves and capital requirements.
- Conduct ad-hoc capital analysis and financial projections to support strategic initiatives as necessary.
What You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial or other quantitative discipline, with a minimum of 8 years' experience working within life insurance industry. Strong VA product knowledge, valuation and modeling experience are required. Prior pricing experience with VA GMXB's is preferrable.
- Fellowship of Society of Actuaries or equivalent designation.
- Experience with actuarial projection or valuation software, database applications, business intelligence tools.
- Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet time commitments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and well organized, with proven ability to work independently.
- Possess strong communication and analytical skills, and ability to solve complex problems.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas and processes.
