The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role in bringing our Chief Actuary’s Office to new heights.  Specifically, this role will

 

·       support regulatory development and reporting to comply with the needs of regulatory bodies, together with Controllers, Operation and Compliance teams,  

·       participate in reinsurance reporting, monitoring, optimization and review existing reinsurance contracts

·       work closely with Product and Pricing teams on review new products, reinsurance and campaign initiative, focusing on regulatory compliance

·       involve in actuarial projects which could cover topics including but not limited to IFRS17 valuation, Par product analysis and Inforce management.

 

We would also expect the role to ever-improve efficiency and effectiveness in regulatory results production, leveraging technologies and extensive support from various internal parties.

We are looking for someone with:

·           Degree holder with reasonable progress towards attainment of professional actuarial qualifications.

·           5 years of relevant working experience in insurance industry. 

·           Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work with complex issues and concepts. Experience in a direct life insurer is a plus.

·           Attention to detail and time management.

·           Strong technical/modeling skills, knowledge or experience in Python, PowerBI, Microsoft Access, VBA, Qlik and/or AXIS is an asset

·           Both an effective team player, and able to deliver results under pressure and deadlines.

·           Always demonstrate initiatives and commitment, and able to work independently.

·           Good communication and relationship skills.

·           Effective command of English, both spoken and written.

·           Candidates considering the role of Actuarial Manager should also possess leadership, project / stakeholder management and coordination skills, as well as willing and able to lead, encourage, support and develop more junior colleagues.
