We're looking for an actuary to support our capital management function. This includes regulatory and rating agency requirements. The department if charged with reporting capital internally to our parent and to external partners. Also, you will own, develop and perform analysis on time-specific projection models and consult on our internal growth plans that impact capital. This requires collaboration with our asset management team, and reinsurance, financial reporting and many others. This high visibility role will be an important partner in major company projects.
You will have outsized exposure to our CRO, finance leadership and asset management teams. There is an expectation of collaboration with our credit risk team, financial risk team, and coordination to ensure there is consistent risk scenario modeling across the enterprise and with the parent. You will report to the Senior Director of Financial Risk.
What you do:
- Manage projects, analyze results and provide options and recommendations including:
- New product pricing models
- Product management tools and studies
- Business and related forecasts
- Implement new valuation methods
- Perform actuarial research supporting: Product pricing and development; Hedging and risk mitigation methods; valuations and insurance regulations
- Prepare financial reports and analysis, actuarial memos and responses to support:
- New product research filings and rollouts
- Requests from external auditors, state regulators and rating agencies
- Parent company requests and requirements
- Perform experience studies and help develop pricing, projection or valuation assumptions
- May manage other entry-level actuaries. Training and direction of other entry-level actuaries
What you bring:
- 8-10 years' experience required in Actuarial field
- Four year degreed required in Actuarial Science, Math, Physics, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- Achieved ASA working toward FSA
