Key Responsibilities
As an intern in Allstate Benefits' Actuarial Department, you'll gain hands-on experience across a range of critical actuarial and financial functions, including:
- Actuarial projections and analysis
- Month-end reporting and strategic claim cost updates
- Supporting company and state reporting initiatives
Additionally, you'll be involved in profitability and risk management projects that require creativity and problem-solving, providing valuable support to the Product Actuarial team while managing multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
We're looking for someone who is passionate about actuarial science and ready to grow their career with us. The ideal candidate should:
- Be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Have passed at least one actuarial exam through the Society of Actuaries
- Be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SQL, or demonstrate a strong ability to quickly learn new software and programming languages
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
