As an ADP Actuarial Associate, you will be part of our Actuarial Development Program where you begin as a student that will rotate into various positions throughout the actuarial departments in order to gain a wide range of knowledge and experiences that can be leveraged throughout the Actuary's career. Although not every rotation path is the same for every student, common roles often include, but are not limited to, Valuation, Product Development, Asset-Liability Management, and Experience Analysis.

The Department

Market Risk Management (MRM) is a multi-disciplinary financial derivatives team that applies state-of-the-art technology in performing highly dynamic work. Our mandate is to manage one of the most complex derivatives available today: retirement living benefit guarantees. In service of that mandate we: manage a $50 billion+ multi-asset hedging portfolio, do research and development of new retirement products, and provide modeling and analytics expertise for the business. We are part of a larger organization, but cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit of a small start-up. Our work is cutting edge within the industry.

The Team

The MRM Operations & Reporting Team performs daily functions in support of MRM's risk management mandate, produces financial management reports, quantifies asset/liability P/L changes and communicates results to senior leadership.

The Role

MRM seeks a motivated, self-reliant team player to join MRM's Operations & Reporting Team. In this role, the Analyst will work with a multidisciplinary team to perform tasks supporting MRM's risk management and hedging functions, in addition to producing and delivering financial reports.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly financial reports; provide analytic support and commentary to external audiences regarding changes in risk profile due to changing factors such as financial markets, liability profile, demographics and assumptions versus actual experience
  • Support process, model and end-user computing tool documentation efforts
  • Assist in efforts to automate existing operations and report generation processes
  • Partner with the Modelling Team, the MRM Model Validation Team, the MRM ALM & Automation Team, and the IT Support Team to coordinate Production launches
  • Perform ad-hoc research/financial analysis as needed


What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field
  • Completion of one or more SOA exams
  • 3.2 GPA
  • Prior internship experience preferred
  • Detailed oriented
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Familiarity with MS Office especially Access and Excel
  • Programming skill in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ a plus

For positions based in Woodland Hills, California, the base salary range is $75,000 - $90,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
