Your future team
The highly visible Life Chief Finance Actuary (CFA) department is charged with running the Universal Life Interest Crediting Committee, providing checks and balances to product pricings via the Life Pricing Committee, assisting and advising the Life CFO, supporting requests from Enterprise Risk Management, and evaluating potential merger and acquisition activity.
With respect to the above responsibilities, the employee's expectations are outlined below.
Administering Universal Life Interest Crediting Committee
The Life CFA department runs the universal life Interest Crediting Committee. The employee will help to prepare, as well as peer and tech review memoranda for these meetings as well as the delivery files of rates to IT. The employee will coordinate regularly with the Life Pricing team on determining interest rates and indexed feature rates, then prepare deliverables to IT, marketing, and administrative teams.
Providing checks and balances to product pricings via Life Pricing Committee
The Life Pricing Committee approves or rejects product additions or changes based on a product approval package and an associated walkthrough with stakeholders. The employee will help to coordinate pricing committee meetings, distribute materials and notes, consolidate pricing assumptions for finance use and provide analysis of pricing packages to the Life CFA.
Assisting and advising Life CFO
The Life CFA department provides direct support for the Life CFO on topics such as earnings analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. The employee will provide support for requests as needed, such as extracting and enhancing policy and plan data, designing tools, and producing analytics on key lines of business. The employee will provide support to all branches of the Life Actuarial area, including Valuation, Pricing and Modeling teams as necessary.

What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field
- Completion of one or more SOA exams
- 3.2 GPA
- Prior internship experience preferred
- Detailed oriented
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Familiarity with MS Office especially Access and Excel
- Programming skill in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ a plus
