Description
The Small Commercial indications team within USRM Risk Analytics is seeking an Actuary to be the Cross-line lead. This role is responsible for cross-line work across the Liberty Mutual and State Auto books, including target combined ratios, expenses, baseline loss ratios, cross-line indication files, PowerBI reports, Earthquake indications, and other ad hoc analyses and special projects. You will get exposure to many lines of business and the opportunity to work on and enhance analytics and tools that are valuable to our stakeholders. You will work closely with others across the indication team and in other groups, including Risk Analytics, Finance, and Small Commercial Product.
**This is a ranged position. Level offered will be based on candidate skills and experience at manager discretion.**

Responsibilities:
- Own cross-line indication files for Small Commercial indications.
- Update, enhance, and expand PowerBI indication tools and reports.
- Own Earthquake rate indications.
- Work on cross-line database enhancements for Liberty Mutual and State Auto.
- Analyze and present findings on cross-line profitability by different dimensions such as industry.
- Work collaboratively with the LOB indication teams and our business partners on cross-line projects.
- Share cross-line findings and files with stakeholders and be their point of contact for questions.
- Identify and drive forward improvements in the cross-line processes, files, and data.
- Work on other cross-line special projects and requests.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Associateship or Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS/FCAS) designation preferred or comparable education/designation with relevant experience.
- Minimum 4-7 years relevant experience required.
- Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal, statistics, claims, sales, etc.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and interact effectively with others within and outside the organization.
- Ability to motivate and mentor peers and motivate and train subordinates.
- Advanced computing skills (MS Office Excel, SAS, etc.) with ability to build complex models.
- Ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to establish and build effective relationships within and outside the organization.
