We are seeking a creative, highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuary, Quantitative Model Developer/Researcher with an established background in financial engineering, programming and actuarial science to join the Actuarial Hedging team. In this role, you will be engaged in an exciting effort to lead the design and implementation of state-of-the-art actuarial and quantitative models that drive our hedging program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, implement and maintain hedging models for hedging operations and hedge strategy.
- Lead the development of tools and platform enhancements to bolster productivity through innovative system-building and automation.
- Leverage knowledge of high-performance computing to speed up the production of results and systematically search for improved model robustness.
- Crafts documentation for analysis, reporting, internal control, external auditing purposes.
- Recommends changes and continuous improvement and provides supporting analysis for the recommendations; contributes to proposals of innovative hedging strategies for VA guarantees.
- A key contributor and often leads on team's initiatives aimed at derivatives/market modeling, analytical research and infrastructure/process development.
- A key member of the cross-functional team on the asset-liability management; actively involved on strategic projects with a strong desire to learn and lead.
- Leads in actuarial hedging and liability valuation using actuarial software and reporting tools. Actively monitors P&L attribution and performance measurement and hedge effectiveness.
- Collaborates across different functional teams in the organization; can work effectively with internal controls and external auditors/regulators; take proactive actions to mitigate operational risks.
In Office Schedule: This role will work in office 3 days per week.
The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $175,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
