Join the Personal Lines Auto State Analytics team as an Actuary! In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team that provides valuable insights and guidance for managing our ~$12B Annual DWP Personal Lines Auto portfolio. Our team's mission is to provide tailored profit guidance for each state through timely and robust analyses. As Actuary, you will lead work on state indications that serve as a foundation for rate guidance, ensuring that our rate actions and underwriting levers improve each state’s profit position. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping state loss development strategy, leveraging a robust suite of actuarial methods. You will help identify and propose enhancements to our existing processes and methodologies to drive for operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver state level indications to internal stakeholders to drive actions and influence decisions to achieve top quartile profitability. Build indications tools to increase our organizational understanding of our methodology and inform state level profitability position.
- Lead state loss development, improving on current framework to build more efficient and accurate processes.
- Proactively identify opportunities, drive analysis, and make recommendations for appropriate strategies to develop, evaluate and enhance state level profitability.
- Act as a trusted partner to State Management to help inform and influence state-specific strategy and tactics, including pricing and underwriting levers.
- Collaborate with CW Analytics, Actuarial, Finance, Claims and Data Science to gain better understanding and assess and improve profitability with a state focus. Support cross-team initiatives to enrich the deliverables with state-specific insights. Building trust and credibility with teams beyond State Analytics to drive decisions and execution.
- Support an inclusive, equitable and high performing culture. Coach and mentor junior team members.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Associateship or Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS/FCAS) designation preferred or comparable education/designation with relevant experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience required.
- Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal, statistics, claims, sales, etc.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and interact effectively with others within and outside the organization.
- Ability to motivate and mentor peers and motivate and train subordinates.
- Advanced computing skills (MS Office Excel, SAS, etc.) with ability to build complex models.
