What the day will look like
This role is for a hands-on individual with a strong analytics background, ideally in finance, insurance or consulting. The individual will work in Aon reinsurance's mortgage analytics team to deliver value added reinsurance solutions to our clients. Your work will support mortgage credit risk transfer (CRT) reinsurance deal placements and other client projects working closely with other Aon colleagues. You will also perform market research and industry studies.
Analyst are expected to be proficient in standard analyses. You will become familiar with Aon's tools and approach, contribute to our client's development and present Aon's solutions and services to our clients.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Strong proficiency and prior experience in data analytics languages such as R, Python, SQL, or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong analytics background from P&C lines of business, other financial fields, or consulting experience.
- Strong ability to understand and perform mathematical and statistical calculations.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems by thinking creatively, strategically, and analytically.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Progress towards passing Actuarial Exams (3+), an advanced degree in a related field, or 3+ years of related working experience.
- Desire to build a career in reinsurance, consulting, financial modeling, or credit default analytics is preferred.
- Model building, Economic Capital modeling, return attribution, reinsurance valuation, or mortgage analytics experience are a plus.
Education:
Minimum requirement is Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Math, Computer Science, or other related degrees.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
