Duties: Overall responsibility for research and analyses associated with an assigned line of business spanning primary insurance, reinsurance quota share, and reinsurance excess of loss coverages. Independently complete Annual Reserve Review , including identifying emerging risks and uncertainties that could affect reserve adequacy, projecting ultimate losses and estimate incurred but not reported (IBNR) reserves, evaluating loss development patterns, claim settlement trends, and other factors influencing the timing and magnitude of reserve changes. Create actuarial presentations and present results/topics to clients (internal & external) and management. Direct the modification and enhancement of existing applications to address special issues. Coordinate and help focus and prioritize the use of actuarial resources for tasks that are assigned. Solve data & operational issues. Participate in developing new methodologies, products and procedures. Supervise and peer review actuarial work (review geared toward a business sense check) and provide constructive feedback. Facilitate management team's decision making and communicate solutions to deeply complex financial issues. Lead actuarial projects/analyses requiring multiple resources including those who are not direct reports. Projects include IFRS17 reporting, industry-wise actuarial researches, deep dive on business portfolio. Participate in hiring process, including interview and facilitating hiring decision. Manage the work for those who are not direct reports including other actuaries, accountants and data scientists, as needed. Coordinate cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment of goals, resources, and timelines. Act as a primary point of contact or liaison for communication between teams, departments, or project groups. Facilitate discussions and negotiations to resolve conflicts and reach mutually beneficial solutions. Participate in the training of actuarial concepts and methods to actuarial staff and others (internal & external).

Requirements: Master's in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics or related actuarial field plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as Actuarial Analyst, or Actuary or closely related actuarial position in the insurance industry. Will also accept Bachelor's degree in same fields plus 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in same fields. Must have 5 years of work experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI; 2 years of work experience in using International Financial Reporting Standards 17 (IFRS17) and in Reinsurance (Reserving, P&C); and 2 years of work experience in Primary Insurance (Pricing + Product, P&C). Prior work experience must also include: Training/mentoring new team members; and, ACAS or equivalent credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society. May telecommute but must have ability to report to Princeton, NJ office two times per week.
