Description

Global Risk Solutions NA Reserving is seeking an Actuary to deliver exceptional analyses for short-tail reserving, financial planning, and natural Catastrophe booking support. This position requires the ability to implement process improvements to align with reserving unit goals and cross-functional requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with a proven track record of executing tasks effectively in a collaborative team setting. Additionally, the candidate should possess the ability to prioritize competing priorities, ensuring efficient and timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly reserve adequacy opinions and present recommendations to senior management.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate closely with Claims, Finance, and Information Management.
  • Participate in annual loss analyses to support the Plan for various lines of business and segments.
  • Assist in monthly Catastrophe projection analysis and financial booking support.
  • Performs special projects as requested.
Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Associateship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation required, Fellowship (FCAS preferred).
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively express technical actuarial and statistical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal, statistics, claims, sales, etc.
  • Advanced computing skills (MS Office Excel, SAS, etc.) required.
  • Working knowledge of IWE, TM1, and Smart view database applications is preferred.
