Position Summary

This is a key strategic role responsible for connecting deep pharmacy expertise with actuarial principles related to commercial health plan risk and forecasting. This position is a senior member of the team responsible for owning the forecast and driving analyses related to emerging pharmacy results, trend drivers, drug pipeline and drug trends. This position would also develop and present pricing trend and rebate guidance.

Leadership:
Lead/manage projects established to support goals identified in strategic and operating plans. Exhibit innovative use of resources. Mentor and advise junior members of the team.

Product & Business Knowledge:
Integrate understanding of internal and external data sources for quantifying risks. Apply knowledge of products, programs, processes and policies to resolve problems and issues. Assure compliance with applicable regulations, laws and standards. Perform rating studies and custom pricing requests from underwriting/sales using product knowledge. Apply actuarial judgement when assessing impacts.

Risk Analysis & Management:
Collaborate with business partners across the CVS Health enterprise to provide sound risk management advice. Evaluate the impact of upcoming regulatory changes on the business. Influence pricing and trend for product and/or services based on pharmacy strategy and industry dynamics. Anticipate and recognize matters that materially affect financial results and make sound, unbiased recommendations on these matters.

Technical Proficiency:
Develop creative technical solutions to a variety of problems. Stay apprised of technical innovations as potential solutions for actuarial issues and concerns. Pull and summarize data to inform sound business decisions.

Communication, Collaboration & Consultation:
Possess and leverage strong communication and networking skills to effectively collaborate across teams and business areas. Maintain accurate documentation.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to think creatively and use multiple data sources to assess and develop business strategies.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with experts from other teams to better understand environmental issues/drivers and how/why the impact may differ by line of business.

- Experience with large and detailed data sets.

- Must have actuarial exams passed.

Preferred Qualifications

- SQL experience

- Pharmacy experience

- ASA/FSA credential

Education

- Bachelor's degree

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$60,300.00 - $139,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
