We are actively recruiting for a Senior Consulting Actuary in the Chicago marketplace to manage key client actuarial relationships and assist in the growth of our business. What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participation in the overall management and marketing of Milliman's services in the area of corporate pensions
  • Leading client meetings and new business presentations.
  • Perform senior-level review of all technical work required for each assigned actuarial client and
  • Serve as the signing actuary for certain assigned clients.

Professional Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of the corporate retirement market and ability to think strategically about how to introduce new products and services, as well as position Milliman to win business
  • Strong marketing skills and contacts with corporate pension plan sponsors or their advisors
  • Regular speaker at industry conferences a plus
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to lead client meetings, presentations and new business opportunities.
  • Strong client management skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Self-motivated, high achiever who has demonstrated leadership skills that will be used in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in actuarial valuations, including strong knowledge of funding and accounting rules.
  • Complete knowledge and ability to oversee the preparation of benefit calculations, government forms, valuation data preparation, etc.
  • At least ten years of relevant retirement benefits experience.
  • Minimum credentials: Enrolled Actuary (EA).
  • Ability to manage personal workflow as well as oversee the work of others.
  • Ability to work independently; must be motivated with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to manage internal staff.

The Team

The EB Consulting practice provides actuarial and other consulting services for multiple industries, for actives and retirees and for Corporate, Public and Multiemployer Plans. This practice works with several key types of clients organized into the following seven lines of business:

  • Corporate Pension Plans
  • Multiemployer Pension Plans
  • Public Pension Plans
  • Other Postretirement Benefit Plans (Corporate, Multiemployer, and Public combined)
  • Health and Group Benefits (Corporate, Multiemployer, and Public combined)
  • Compensation and Benefits Surveys
  • Investments


Location

Candidates hired into this role will be required to work in-person in the Milliman Chicago, IL office on a weekly basis, but flexible work arrangements will be considered for our hybrid environment.

Compensation

The salary range for this role depends on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
