GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for actively engaging in all aspects of the MCS Actuarial Trainee Program, under the guidance and support of the assigned Sponsor and Mentor. Assisting MCS actuaries in preparing and delivering financial advisement reports, completing regulatory training, and participating in individual and team development activities. Will also foster collaboration with fellow trainees, attend networking events with the executive team, contribute to community service initiatives, and execute key projects that drive business success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform tasks and provide services related to the actuarial trainee program in accordance with the assigned program Sponsor.
• Manage databases, information, and records while maintaining the quality and confidentiality of it.
• Get involved in the learning of internal systems or platforms and serve as a support for its management.
• Attend and engage in networking activities with members of the executive team.
• Gather data and analyze risk to prepare assessments, reports, and summaries of findings.
• Updates risk assessment models (reports and worksheets) periodically to determine probability, expected value, and risk and analyzes cost trends and lines-of-business memberships based on funding type.
• Provide actuarial support for various actuarial functions including financial planning and reporting, cash flow testing, asset/liability models, determining actuarial reserves and/or product development.
• Perform tasks related to data preparation for analytic projects and/or product implementation.
• Prepares and analyzes the loss ratio reports of the MCS portfolio (premiums versus claims) and refers them to management for the corresponding decision-making and actions.
• Provide support in preparing information and research materials, such as PowerPoint presentations and handling Excel reports.
• Comply with the designated project tasks and deliverables, while focusing on doing research, propose ideas and solutions, and present the results.
• Participate in individual and team development activities with the support and facilitation of the Human Resources department.
• Provide suggestions to improve internal processes and the customer service experience.
• Complete required regulatory training and stay informed about industry standards.
• Must comply fully and consistently with all company policies and procedures, with local and federal laws as well as with the regulations applicable to our Industry, to maintain appropriate business and employment practices.
• May carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned, according to the requirements of education and experience contained in this document.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Undergraduate and/or postgraduate students pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field; from an accredited university, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, with at least 30 credits completed.
