As an Actuarial Technology Program Manager, you will lead the project management activities across all actuarial projects within the IT organization. This role will be part of Actuarial Information Technology group. You will work closely with the technology leaders, consultants and business to handle all of the project management aspects of the deliverables.

The Actuarial IT team needs a strong architect and ETL developer with a good business analyst background to understand annuities, life, experience studies and valuation business processes and provide technical support. You will work closely with actuaries, the IT team and stakeholders to understand data needs, analyze issues and provide appropriate solutions. Our projects support the actuarial department's growing data needs, automation of data intake and analysis. We need a strong resource to bring technical solutions by thoroughly understanding, analyzing, and documenting stakeholder's processes and information needs following best practices.

Responsibilities Include
  • Manage projects in PPM
  • Setup yearly budget and planning for overall actuarial team and all the major projects within
  • Setup the project roadmap and manage the projects in Agile as well as traditional waterfall model
  • Participate in the project discussion, understand the project requirement, and help clarify the business needs to the technical team
  • Act as a strong business analyst on life and annuities projects
  • Setup and manage the project intake process and book of work
  • Keep track of all the various requirements across all the projects, raise concern on delayed requirements and follow up with both the technical team and business team to deliver solutions on time
  • Work effectively with the infrastructure architects and DBA teams to ensure that all approved development and deployment procedures are followed


Job Requirements
  • Extensive understanding of AGILE, waterfall and other implementation methods
  • Strong understanding of the SOX process and the readiness for SOX review with the project team
  • Experience with handling large projects, large program budgeting and planning
  • Extensive experience with database development tools (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Toad), ETL and integration technologies including Oracle ODI and Microsoft SQL, Snowflake and Talend
  • Experience developing large scale systems
  • Experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, PL/SQL, ETL processing
  • Familiarity with standard development toolkits including source repositories (TFS), SQL interpreters (TOAD), IDEs (.Net), etc.
  • Sound understanding of RDBMS - Basic understanding of finance and insurance industry is a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills
  • Aptitude for debugging problems in complex, unfamiliar code
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Measure, LOMA and ACORD a plus
  • Experience with any ETL application such as Datastage a plus
