This position supports Cigna Pharmacy Economics by leading a team of 3~4 analytical staff to manage intercompany service agreement between Cigna Healthcare and Express Scripts, perform economic evaluation and optimization of pharmacy network initiatives across retail pharmacies, ESI Home Delivery and Accredo Home Delivery pharmacies, strategize and monitor customer steerage campaigns to improve affordability and customer satisfaction, and forecast and analyze pharmacy script growths associated with key initiatives. It partners closely with Cigna Pharmacy Product, Marketing, Pharmacy Finance and Pharmacy Pricing teams. It reports to an Actuarial Senior Director.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance Pharmacy Benefit Service Agreements (PBSA) and related performance monitoring and management frameworks between Cigna Health Plans and Express Scripts.

  • Lead economic value measurement and customer behavior/impact analyses for existing pharmacy network solutions.

  • Drive affordability innovation and economic optimization by leveraging data visualization assets and advanced predictive analytics that utilize eligibility and drug utilization data associated with millions of Cigna Pharmacy customers.

  • Lead quarterly business and financial projections for various network initiatives and analyze emerging experience against forecast to identify improvement iterations.

  • Leading a team of 3~4 staff members and create a supportive environment that incorporates regular training and development, actuarial exam support, feedback sharing and career coaching.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics or related field strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in actuarial, financial analysis, data analysis, pharmacy or other similar roles

  • Associate of Society of Actuaries designation required, Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred.

  • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

  • Experience with database and analytics applications (SAS, SQL, Python, R, and/or Tableau) are preferred.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 140,400 - 234,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
