The Sr Manager & Actuary, Life Pricing is responsible for developing talent, life product filing, and leading a team that prices individual life products.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and coach talent, prioritize and assign work, coaching for effectiveness, and creating a culture of collaboration, teamwork, creativity, and empowerment.
- Lead the team to develop pricing models to better understand the impact of various product designs on risk adjusted returns under varying accounting frameworks.
- Approves life product pricing.
- Drafts and reviews policy forms and actuarial memorandums as part of the new product filing process. Accountable for statements of actuarial opinions supporting individual life products.
- Lead the team to provides support to new business, policy administration, and wholesaling departments for life product related issues or questions.
Qualifications:
- Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
- 7+ years of life product development and pricing experience
- 3+ years of talent development experience
- Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills to analyze data and model results.
- Expertise with actuarial modeling systems.
- Developed interpersonal and collaboration skills to interact with wide variety of people that is demanded by the job. Ability to leverage and maximize through a matrixed operating model.

If you're in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you'll join us 2-3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn't feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option.
Physical Job Requirements
- Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
- Ability to utilize a phone or teleconferencing platform for up to 2-4 hours per day.
