Background
- Pricing and Underwriting maintain a longstanding Underwriting projection tool. That tool is supported by business requirements (specifications) in the form of various Excel files that perform Pricing calculations. The job of the Pricing Design team is to understand the moving pieces underlying the projection tool and design and implement changes to the Excel specifications based on methodology provided by other teams.
- The responsibilities of this role are to understand new changes being requested, research the moving pieces involved, recommend a solution, produce an Excel representation of the build, test the changes, and support the project until it gets released into production.
More generally this role will:
- Work independently to design workable and efficient changes to the projection tool that improve methodology and meet the needs of Pricing Methodology, Underwriting Enablement and other Pricing business areas
- Gather, sort and coalesce information from impacted parties as needed
- Vet the designs, code and test the solutions in the Excel transaction engines, independently and with review by Methodology, prior to releasing to coding team
- Work with testing and coding teams to ensure a clean handoff to the coding team
- Keep documentation up to date
- Work within the Agile structure
- Support helpdesk questions (share responsibility with other members of the team)

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science or related field strongly preferred
- 4+ years of actuarial, pricing or underwriting experience preferred, preferably in large group healthcare
- Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be proactive and effect change, influence, persuade, and collaborate with audiences at various levels of experience and responsibility

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 120,600 - 201,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
