Kemper Scholars Internship Program
Kemper Scholars internships will enable you to broaden your understanding of the business, make valuable connections, and set a course for your professional journey with us. You will work on special projects that positively impact our business and our customers. Kemper is looking for students who love to problem solve and are willing to make real-life impact on projects that may involve the senior executives to front-line associates. We deliver meaningful experiences in various internship areas like Product Development, Claims, Operations, Finance, IT, Data Analytics, and much more. Are you ready to create your own journey by joining ours? This is a 10-week paid internship offering challenging projects that support Kemper's strategic priorities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kemper interns will be exposed to the following concepts and experiences.
- Work day to day with the Life reserving actuarial team.
- Gain hands-on experience running actuarial models and delivering financial results.
- Perform data analysis using Excel, R, SQL, and other programs.
- Exposure to a range of actuarial concepts, including reserving / valuation and pricing concepts.
- Assist on special projects and ad-hoc analysis.
- Present analytical findings to the team / business partner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (MUST HAVE):
- Junior or Senior status enrolled at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, or Notre Dame University.
- Qualifying majors in an academic area related to mathematics, such as, actuarial science, statistics, finance, economics or data science.
- Successful completion of 1 or more actuarial exams preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.
- This position is a hybrid role and may require work in the office 3-4 days a week.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
The hourly rate for this opportunity is $22.00.
