This opportunity is in the Actuarial Services Department.

Our Actuarial department is a dynamic group of professionals focusing on enterprise risk management, pricing, reserving, and data analysis for all lines of business. The actuarial team analyzes and models all aspects of enterprise risk management risks, including but not limited to, underwriting risk, operational risk, credit risk, etc., ; creates, maintains and updates pricing models for underwriters to utilize; creates reserving estimates for all lines of business and assists with financial- and claims-related items, helping the organization to succeed using our insurance expertise. We aim to improve practices and efficiency across the organization, while using data to the fullest potential to gain insights that help Safety National meet our goals.

Role Description:

As an Actuarial ERM Manager (internally known as ERM Manager) at Safety National, you'll lead strategic risk management efforts that shape how we identify, analyze, and mitigate enterprise-wide risks. You'll use advanced modeling techniques and your deep understanding of insurance operations to strengthen our ERM framework. In this influential role, you'll manage the development of ERM models and reporting, guide risk metrics and governance processes, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and Tokio Marine affiliates. Key Responsibilities:
  • While this position does not have any direct reports, you will play a significant role in developing and mentoring other team members
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise risk models and risk frameworks
  • Collaborate across departments to compile and analyze data for Tokio Marine's ERM model, including key areas such as Cyber Risk, Capital Management, and IFRS Risk Adjustment
  • Maintain and enhance ERM model data infrastructure and reporting processes
  • Support the development and documentation of ERM policies, procedures, and metrics
  • Research emerging ERM methodologies and integrate innovative techniques into existing practices
  • Translate complex modeling and risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Support senior leadership with strategic decision-making through insightful risk analysis
  • Participate in inter-departmental initiatives and support management priorities

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field of study (required)

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • 8 or more years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management or a related actuarial or insurance field
  • Strong knowledge of ERM modeling methods, insurance operations, and emerging risk management principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tools used to build, maintain, and improve models
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data into strategic insight
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and cross-functional collaboration
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) or Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) designation
  • Experience working in the commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Programming experience with VBA, SQL, R, or Python

In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target base salary range for this position is $113,000 to $183,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
