A seasoned Actuary who directly manages, plans and implements large complex actuarial reserve reviews. Leads a team and directs the activities of this actuarial area. Is accountable for completing quarterly reserve reviews for Specialty Lines including Professional Liability, Warranty and Surety and working with team to identify trends and present recommendations to leadership. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Directs the work activities and has full management responsibility for the performance, coaching and development of a team.
Provides business partners and functional subject matter experts actuarial guidance and business insights related to profitability.
Builds strong relationships with direct reports, peers, business partners and leaders across multiple functions in order to ensure optimal implementation of business strategies aligned with actuarial insights and analytics.
Collaborates with and influences senior leadership in the development and implementation of reserving strategy for Specialty Lines including Professional Liability, Warranty & Surety. Drives innovation in products through thought leadership.
Participates with senior leadership in the development and implementation of actuarial policies, business strategies and goals, regularly evaluating performance against goals, and holding self and team accountable for achieving desired results.
Oversees the production of highly technical actuarial analyses and reports to communicate to other analytical staff and to senior management.
Stays up to date in actuarial expertise, state/territory regulations and industry trends and development in order to lead decisions related to line of business.
Ensures team is maintaining clear documentation of methods.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience.
Typically has attained Fellowship accreditation (FCAS).

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York and Washington, the standard base pay range for this role is $78,500 to $301,400 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
