This program is a 10-week full-time opportunity that provides real work experience with a team in your business area. You will be aligned to projects to lead or contribute to while also participating in networking, development, and career exploration activities. Our Corporate Interns can apply for future full-time roles during the program and have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a post-graduation role. The Summer 2025 program will run June 2nd - August 8th, 2025. Virtual onboarding activities will also take place May 28th -30th, 2025.
Our Actuarial organization drives to support business leaders with critical thought partnership and end-to-end accountability for business results. We are focused on growing leaders that specialize in managing risk. As an Actuary within Aetna, a CVS Health company, you will leverage strong analytical skills, business knowledge and understanding of human behavior to support the team in activities related to pricing, reserving, forecasting, data analytics, competitive intelligence, healthcare trend analytics and tracking business results.
You will gain valuable work experience and participate in:
- Financial planning, forecasting, and reserving
- Monitoring and forecasting medical cost trends
- Regulatory filings
- New product development and pricing
Examples of past internship projects include:
- Assignments are available across a variety of business units including Commercial Business, Government Businesses & Medical Economics.
- Limited non-traditional Actuarial assignments exist as available.
Work visa sponsorship is available for this role. This includes participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
This is a hybrid position with 3 days (generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in our Hartford CT office. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home, office, or another location of your choice. Intern housing will be provided.
Required Qualifications
- Meet educational requirements (see education section)
- Have passed one actuarial exam by 3/31/2025
- Have a willingness to relocate if needed
- Have an interest in pursuing an Actuarial career
Education
- Be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Have an anticipated graduation date between September 2025 and August 2028
- Have a major, minor or concentration relevant to the position.
- Examples include: Actuarial Science, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics, or other related degree
