We are looking for a seasoned hands-on design lead in the Business Intelligence and reporting space. As the Actuarial BI & Data Engineer you will lead key reporting engagements in the Actuarial space. Specifically, the focus is on regulatory reporting, partnering with Actuaries, Molders and IT data engineering teams. Ideal candidates possess the ability to manage multiple stake holders, understand the business needs in detail, document business rules and design reports and perform ad-hoc data analysis. Reporting solutions are developed in enterprise BI tools (Tableau and Power BI). Select MicroStrategy portfolio will be migrated to target architecture. Additionally, candidates will possess working knowledge in the AWS fundamentals, specifically working knowledge in core AWS services (VPCs, EC2, Object stores S3 etc.). As we modernize the Actuarial technology space, candidate will have the ability to work on diverse set of engagements (Reporting, cloud migrations, solution design from a data sourcing and modeling standpoint).

- Act as a bridge between Actuarial modelers/statisticians, IT development/delivery and supporting teams in order to design and operationalize end to end modeling processes
- The role requires deep experience in cloud computing, modeling and IT SDLC and controls-based delivery
- Liaise with Actuarial Modeling teams to define usecases and workloads
- Architect and design automated execution of models and establish DataOps within the model governance process
- Curate and manage Actuarial and analytics focused application portfolio
- Review end to end Actuarial processes to define opportunities for improvements (i.e., reduce the overall execution timeframes via automation and improved modeling capabilities)
- Develop industry trends and acumen in the Actuarial Technology space and drive programs to adopt process, best practices, and tools to deliver value added benefits (cost reduction, execution efficiencies and streamlines compliance)
Additionally, this role is part of the enterprise BI Analytics and Reporting shared services organization. As such, experience in developing enterprise level BI standards, playbooks, and developing reporting strategy is a parallel goal that the candidate will drive.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable with 8+ years of experience
- Knowledge of object-oriented and functional software design
- Prior experience with knowledge of Git and GitHub
- Understanding of Software Development Methodologies
- Understanding of security best practices
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
- Must Have: Tableau, SQL, Python, Git/Jenkins, Data Analysis, Agile experience, experience with cloud-based tools and solutions
- Nice to have: Snowflake, RESTful web services, Power BI, MicroStrategy

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $94,800-$132,700 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
