Position Summary:  

In this exciting project-based role as an Actuarial Associate on the Retirement Plans (RP) team, you will have the opportunity to support strategic initiatives across the division which are transforming the way we do business. You'll provide pricing and profitability modeling and analysis that impact new business strategy and product development.  

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Model and monitor the profitability of new and existing retirement plan products 
  • Support the launch of new retirement products providing experience analysis and recommending changes to pricing 
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvements in processes and products 
  • Collaborate with the Actuarial Transformation team to build new tools and processes which will support the future state vision for the Retirement Plans division 

 

Reporting relationships 

  • You will report to a Senior Director and Actuary

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills that instill confidence with a wide range of audience including senior management, demonstrating the ability to translate complex concepts into meaningful actionable information 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills while being flexible to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Low-ego, team-oriented, collaborative approach while at the same time able to effectively influence the desired outcomes 
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and technical capabilities and problem-solving skills with attention to details. Able to get deep into the “weeds” to perform analysis and distill findings into concise and actionable summaries 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • FSA or near FSA 
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field 
  • 3 or more years of progressively responsible actuarial experience 
  • Experience with SQL, Python and R or similar coding languages

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience in pricing or product development 
  • Experience with retirement plans or spread-based products

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$102,250.00 - $150,000.00
