How you'll contribute:
As an Actuarial Associate, you'll be responsible for supporting variable annuity asset liability management strategy and corporate development with a focus on reporting, modeling, sensitivity analysis, project management, and documentation. This role reports to the Director & Actuary, supporting the asset liability management team in producing periodical risk reports and performance attribution. The individual will play a role in developing, improving, documenting evolving hedge related reporting and analysis.

In this role, you'll get to:
  • Support the hedging and risk management of variable annuities with living benefit riders (VA), fixed annuities (FA), and structured indexed annuities (SIA).
  • Perform monthly hedge analysis on liability and asset valuation, which includes Sensitivity grid and attribution analysis, scenario generation and reserving & capital calculation.
  • Maintain and enhance analysis tool and tool package to identify and measure risk factors in various stages of risk management.
  • Support companywide valuation system consistency. Experience in Prophet, PathWise or other actuarial modeling software.
  • Process Optimization and R&D, such as industrialization of current BAU process, new business analysis, development and implementation of hedge strategy initiatives, and research on data science application in hedge.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external constituents.


We're looking for people who have:
  • Passed at least 4 exams towards the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
  • Strong technical skills in analysis and reporting using MS Office, database and big data processing using Python or other programming languages. VBA and SQL knowledge will be a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and time management skills, with positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Experience with PathWise, Prophet and Numerix is a plus.

  • Compensation - Base salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results. Salary to be commensurate with exam progress.
