The Actuarial Associate, Life - Valuation candidate will be a key member of the Fortitude Re Valuation team, which serves the company by supporting valuation and financial reporting requirements for US GAAP and statutory accounting for reinsurance and acquired businesses. The candidate will align the business lines financial reporting to corporate and accounting policies, governance, and control framework and procedures
What You Will Do:
- Execute project plan for valuation activities on products such as Fixed Deferred Annuities, Supplemental Annuity Contracts, Variable Universal Life, and traditional life.
- Perform analytics and prepare attribution analysis of financial result.
- Execute controls and governance processes.
- Maintain and develop audit tools to validate reserve calculations.
- Assist in process improvement efforts, particularly automation using Alteryx and Tableau platform.
- Assist with valuation onboarding activities.
What You Will Have:
- 0-2 years of experience as well as ideally actuarial internship experience.
- Experience working toward Associateship/Fellowship of the SOA, CAS, or IFoA .
- An undergraduate degree with preference for mathematics, actuarial sciences, statistics, or other quantitative fields.
- Strong technical skills (Excel skills required).
- Knowledge of SQL, familiarity with programming in R or Python.
- Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Exposure to actuarial software such as GGY/Moody's AXIS.
- Desire to deliver a complete work product.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office suite of applications, e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
The base salary range for this role is $89,727.00 - $102,847.00 and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
