Job Summary:
The Individual Annuity Actuarial financial reporting team is responsible for valuation, financial reporting, experience analysis, and assumption setting.
This role will report to the Senior Director, this role and will function as a partner to senior actuaries, financial professionals, and executives leading planning, projections, experience studies, and assumption setting.
This role may be filled at either of the following levels:
- Actuarial Associate III – minimum 5 years of hands-on actuarial experience and ASA designation
- Actuarial Associate IV – minimum 8 years of hands-on actuarial experience and FSA designation.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planning and Projection: Develop and maintain planning models and tools. Collaborate with pricing, valuation, finance, sales, and other functional areas to develop annual business plan and other projection analysis to help monitor business performance.
- Actuarial/Expected Experience Studies: Gather, analyze, and develop strong understanding of customer retention, mortality, and expense trends utilizing company, industry, and market data, as necessary. Maintain and enhance experience study models used to monitor experience and update assumptions. Summarize findings and provide quantitative knowledge for emerging trends. Support the experience analysis and reporting required under VM-22, US Statutory principle-based reserves standards (VM22) for fixed annuities.
- Data Analysis/Information Systems: Extract, analyze and prepare data for use in actuarial analysis. Analyze, interpret, and present numerical data related to pricing and other actuarial analysis.
- Cross Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with various departments across the organization to meet business needs. Using data and analysis, provide strategic guidance in influencing management decision making.
- Independence: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments with some guidance. Emerging skills as a mentor and resource to entry level actuaries. Anticipates customer needs and takes initiative to address business challenges.
Skills and Background You’ll Need:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proficient in MS Office and familiarity with actuarial tools and systems.
- Experience with Individual Annuity or other annuity products highly preferred.
- US Statutory and US GAAP, PowerBi, Python, SQL, and GGY AXIS experience preferred but not required.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
$92,250.00 - $135,250.00Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
