Acceptance to a position in this job family constitutes participation in the Actuarial Student Program at The Standard. The mission of the Actuarial Student Program is to grow actuarial knowledge, business acumen and leadership skills in our Actuaries to enable the achievement of organizational goals. Actuarial students are expected to progress through the levels of the job family based on academic/exam achievements and by developing their analytical skills, independent decision making, and effective communication and leadership skills.

Job Summary:

The Standard seeks a talented actuary to join the Asset Liability Management (ALM) team. In this role, you will be focused on ALM, including equity hedging, key rate duration, interest rate hedging, and asset reporting for the entire company.

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for equity hedging program for Fixed Indexed Annuity from an ALM perspective.
  • Responsible for Key Rate Duration reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation, review, and analysis of various reports related to ALM.
  • Document existing processes along with ideas for model/assumption refinements and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across the company in order to ensure that ALM results are aligned with company operations and expectations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying ways to enhance and streamline our processes.

Your studies will be supported through our actuarial student development program. This position is part of our student rotation program, meaning you will have the opportunity to rotate to an actuarial role in one of our three other distinct product lines or to our corporate actuarial department.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, business, related fields, or comparable work experience required.
  • Minimum ASA completed.
  • Minimum three or more years of experience in the actuarial field.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience in Asset Liability Management/ Hedging.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Programming experience (Python preferred).

Salary Range:

$88,250.00 - $129,500.00
