Responsibilities

  • Create and project actuarial models using appropriate software systems.
  • Coordinates actuarial and financial calculations.
  • Provide support to actuarial staff to ensure that all calculations and financial reporting information are prepared in accordance with Actuarial Standards
  • Ensure accurate and prompt preparation of Annual Actuarial Valuations and GASB disclosure reports for Defined Benefit clients.
  • Review benefit explanation letters; prepare benefit calculations including optional forms of payment.
  • Provide support to pension administrative staff to ensure proper participant distributions.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of materials for current clients.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex information to others in an understandable manner.
  • May perform other duties as needed.
  • Present a professional and helpful appearance at all times.

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related subject
  • A master’s degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of actuarial work experience in pensions preferred
  • Actuarial credentials preferred such as Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation or 10 years relevant experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to deliver projects and all deliverables with accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to give presentations.
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Time management and organizational skills are a must.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.  The above range may be modified in the future
