Global Retail Markets (GRM) Actuarial Reserving team is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to support the Personal Auto Liability quarterly reserve review process. This position is responsible for internal assessments of reserves with a focus on protecting the GRM U.S. balance sheet via early and effective recognition and communication of key trends and risks. Other responsibilities include participation with innovation efforts focused on improving reserving analyses and the implementation of process improvement initiatives to support reserving unit goals and cross-functional needs.
This role will participate in the Actuarial Rotational Program with opportunities to gain experience in both Personal and Commercial products and may work in a variety of disciplines such as financial reporting, ratemaking, reinsurance, research, reserving, underwriting, etc. The Program includes periodic rotations of Students between different positions within various Actuarial departments or business units.

Responsibilities:
- Own the quarterly reserve review for assigned Personal Auto Liability coverage(s) and communicate results to Senior Management.
- Partner with stakeholders in Claims, Trends, and Product to understand impact from internal and external factors on reserves, loss development patterns, and trends.
- Monitor and analyze GRM U.S. and industry trends to ensure reserve estimates incorporate the impact of ongoing changes in the legal and operational environment.
- Execute deep-dive analyses on Personal Auto Liability segment(s) to uncover impactful analytics and insights.
- Build and improve on existing diagnostics to effectively and efficiently execute on quarterly reserve reviews.
- Explore and develop technical skills to improve analytics sophistication (SAS, SQL, PowerBI, etc.).
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement efforts within GRM Actuarial Reserving, as well as across SBUs.
Qualifications
- Proven math and analytical skills, as normally acquired through the pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- Commitment to achieving Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- Passing grades on a minimum of 2 Casualty Actuarial Exams is required.
- Minimum 2-4 years relevant experience required.
- Prior experience and knowledge of basic actuarial techniques and standards and insurance operations. Solid oral and written and presentation communication skills.
- Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to exercise discretion, and apply independent judgment and critical thinking skills in execution of assignments.
- Ability to balance multiple projects with some direction.
- Intermediate MS Office Excel and SAS skills.
- Ability to build simple models.
- Programming skills are desirable.
