Job Summary:
This is a mid level analyst position within the Actuarial department. Performing analysis for our Value Based Programs and help develop new Value Based Models in collaboration with the Health and Network Solutions Team. Reviewing the Value Based Financial Forecasts.- Monitor the performance of Value Based Programs
- Provide support to the Value Based Team on external calls to our Partners
- Develop new Value Based Models in collaboration with the Health and Network Solutions Team
- Assist in developing the budgets/targets for Value Based Partners
- Support ongoing negotiations with our Value Based Partners
- Perform or support forecasting and trend
- Assist with the development and recording of outstanding incurred claims liabilities, as well as other financial accruals and liabilities.
- Assist with understanding medical trend development and drivers, including drill-down analysis and reporting.
- Collect and analyze data to use for financial and utilization reporting and monitoring (including IBNR)
- Accountable for maintaining effective internal controls over the processes and transactions under areas of responsibility including the completeness and accuracy of financial information and transactions, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and the effectiveness and efficiency of operations
Education/Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably within Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Requires 2+ years of actuarial and/or statistics experience
- ASA candidate highly preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
- Requires expert knowledge of Excel
- Prefers working knowledge of Access or other database application
- Prefers experience with SAS, SQL or other programming language
- Requires knowledge of data analysis and Actuarial principles
- Requires good oral and written communication skills
- Requires strong analytical thinking
- Requires strong mathematical skill and statistical analysis abilities
- Requires good judgment and problem solving skills
Salary Range:
$75,300 - $100,800This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
