This position provides an opportunity to take on a role in an entrepreneurial culture and gain a broad perspective across the insurance business. As a member of the Product Development team, you will be asked to assist in providing technical and analytical assessments of complex business issues related to the development of new property products and maintenance of existing ones. You will utilize actuarial techniques to assist in the development and maintenance of sophisticated pricing plans.
What you'd be doing:
- Assists the Product Development or Commercial team in the evaluation of rate adequacy
- Assists with statewide and territorial rate indications
- Conducts renewal impact analyses
- Completes support documentation for product filings with Departments of Insurance and assists with responses to rate related inquiries
- Assists with research projects including developing predictive models and visualizing results to support business decisions
- Performs competitive intelligence analysis
- Utilizing and/or creating models to assess profitability in current rating structures
We're looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science or STEM-related field
- 0-2 years of experience in an actuarial role
- Passage of one or more actuarial exams with the goal of attaining ACAS/FCAS
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical resources
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Strong technical skills; proficiency in R and excel is a plus
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Prior internship experience is a plus, but not required
- To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
