This Actuarial Analyst will be a member of the team supporting the Individual Exchange Market product line. You will work with other Actuaries on the team to help develop product strategy and pricing for the on-exchange individual products. In this role, you will also support analytical efforts regarding the rate setting process including competitive analysis, network analysis, trend, actuarial benefit value analysis, etc.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Preparing experience analyses
  • Supporting regulatory filings preparations
  • Analyzing rate changes
  • Collaborating and communicating results and technical concepts
  • Maintaining and updating actuarial models
  • Supporting ad hoc studies used to develop pricing strategies

The location for this position is any office or remote in the US.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics, or equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of at least 1 actuarial exam
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in MS Excel; working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ months of internship experience or work experience in a corporate setting
  • Experience working in finance or the health care industry
  • Experience with programming in SAS or VBA
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
  • Proven positive, motivated, and team-oriented attitude

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $58,300 to $114,300 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
