The Actuarial Analyst analyzes insurance premium, claim, and exposure information in developing actuarial analyses. The Actuarial Analyst provides analyses and commentary to our internal and external customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare premium, claim and exposure data for actuarial analysis.
Prepare analyses, including commentary, for lines of business and states as required.
Identify data issues and collaborate with external customers to resolve issues.
Document and communicate assumptions and results to internal and external clients.
Analyze internal, competitor, and industry data to determine loss trend, exposure trend, increased limit factors, and loss development factors.
Functional responsibilities may include:
Analyzing loss and loss expense reserves;
Analyzing unearned premium reserves and earnings patterns;
Supporting the production of financial statements, forecasts and budget loss ratio assumptions;
Developing rate indications, evaluating pricing and segmentation;
Supporting large account pricing;
Evaluating profitability.
Achieve progress toward actuarial accreditation through successful completion of actuarial exams.
Education, Experience, Competencies & Values
Bachelor's degree with a background in science, programming, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
At least one year of related experience.
Minimum of two completed actuarial exams with a passing score; SOA exam track required.
Experience with R, SQL, SAS, VBA, or Python.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret and analyze various types of data.
Salary Range is $ 90,000-$106,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate including location, skill set, experience, qualifications and education.
