This position will be actively involved in the deployment of a new pricing platform that will support more sophisticated actuarial methodologies including CMS Medicare Advantage bid development, benefit impact, and sensitivity modeling. Specifically, the role will aid in the development of an Excel spreadsheet model that performs Pricing calculations. A server-based pricing application will also be maintained in parallel with the Excel model to support centralized pricing functionality. The responsibilities of this role are to understand new changes being requested, research the moving pieces involved, recommend a solution, produce an Excel representation of the build, prototype conversions of the Excel representation into a scripting language, test the changes, and support the project until it gets released into production

The team supports the broader Medicare Advantage pricing organization by designing end-to-end bid process solutions and downstream automation. The position requires an experienced actuarial viewpoint with a proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and business partners.

Responsibilities:

Primary focus areas are Medicare pricing and CMS bid development. Other responsibilities include:
  • Developing changes to the Excel methodology that can be adapted for the calculation application
  • Converting Excel spreadsheet calculations into scripts incorporated in a cloud-based calculation engine
  • Applying analytical methods through the use of mathematical and statistical models in bid modeling and financial analyses, etc.
  • Completing ad hoc assessments and projects for corporate-wide or market-specific initiatives.
  • Communicating results of analyses to more senior actuarial team members.
  • Actively participates in team and other internal meetings and presents on specific topics.
  • Manage tight deadlines for multiple competing priorities, scope, and converging opinions to solution in a timely manner.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics or other related field
  • 5+ years of actuarial, data analytics or related experience
  • Strong technical skills in Excel
  • Strong mathematical, financial, statistical and technical skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; written/verbal proficiency
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify problem areas and take initiative to implement solutions.
  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS preferred
  • Associate (ASA) designation preferred
  • Healthcare / Medicare Pricing experience preferred


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 104,300 - 173,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
