The Pricing Actuary reports to the Chief Actuary and will focus on pricing and modeling.  This role will help grow and manage a profitable book of business within Berkley Professional Liability. 

 

Key functions will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist with pricing model development and maintenance
  • Help with developing pricing benchmarks and strategies to drive pricing decisions
  • Work with underwriters and senior management to suggest pricing strategies for Large Accounts
  • Conduct market research and present market trend studies and reports
  • Collect and develop market data for all product lines
  • BA/BS degree required ideally in mathematics or statistics. Masters degree preferred
  • 7+ years of Actuarial experience
  • D&O/E&O pricing experience a plus
  • Actuarial designations a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products including SQL, Excel, VBA, and Access, Ability to efficiently extract, combine, validate and manipulate large quantities of multidimensional data. Knowledge of programming languages R or Python is a plus
  • Strong attention to details: must produce accurate work products, proactively identify issues to be resolved
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to effectively communicate with all constituents, including actuaries, finance, claims staff, IT developers, underwriters, senior management

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:
• Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $200,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus
