- Analyze both internal and external data to adapt and develop rating methodologies for existing company products.
- Use techniques to incorporate new variables in pursuit of a competitive advantage and improved underwriting results.
- Utilizes loss development and other methods to participate in the determination of incurred but not reported reserve estimates to be used in profitability analyses.
- Produce regular monthly reports and/or analyses used to complete the financial close process and/or used to improve underwriting results of the company.
- Represent the needs of the actuarial department on cross functional projects.
- Constantly seek to improve current reporting and actuarial processes.
- Participate in planning ultimate loss and loss adjustment ratios based on underwriting leadership plans and changes to underwriting guidelines.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics
- Minimum Years of Experience by Level:
- Senior Actuarial Analyst: 4 years
- Actuarial Analyst II: 2 years
- Minimum Exam Requirements by Level:
- Senior Actuarial Analyst: ACAS designation
- Actuarial Analyst II: at least 4 exams
- Requires proficiency with Microsoft products including Excel and VBA
- Power BI and SQL Server knowledge preferred
- R and Arius knowledge preferred
- Requires familiarity with basic insurance concepts
- Preferred familiarity with Professional Liability and/or Commercial Auto pricing
Knowledge and Skills
- Proven experience in organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role includes:
Base Salary Ranges:
Senior Actuarial Analyst: $110K - $150K
Actuarial Analyst II: $90K - $110K
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
Eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program
