This position is a hybrid schedule - 1 day per month in the NY office.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead and manage projects within the Actuarial Data Management team, while also serving as a key liaison with technology and other departments. This role is critical to ensuring that projects are effectively prioritized, managed, and delivered on time, in alignment with the team's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an agile framework, as currently used by the team, but should also be prepared to operate within a waterfall framework to accommodate various project needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a familiarity with both actuarial principles and technology processes.

What You'll Do:
  • Project Coordination: Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between actuarial and technology departments.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document project requirements and specifications.
  • Project Planning: Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets; ensure alignment with organizational goals and resource availability.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies; proactively address issues as they arise.
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and milestones.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders in both departments to facilitate collaboration and gather feedback.


What You'll Bring:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is required. A Certified Scrum Master (CSM) designation is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in an actuarial or technology environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with technology frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., AWS, Redshift, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; adept at navigating complex project challenges.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all project aspects are meticulously managed.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to actuarial work.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $72,500-$125,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
